Training focused on brow mapping…

My Precision Brow course is probably my fave course as we get to spend a lot of time focusing on brow mapping, this is so important in your brow treatments and once you’ve mastered the art of mapping everything else will flow I promise!

You can see our model has very classic over plucked brows, we see this so much as brow technicians and we have to be real that a big percentage of our clients have similar brows to these so it’s important to learn how to manage them….

You can see where we’ve placed the blue mapping line underneath, to take away some of the ‘bulb’ this not only lift the brows it will also create a fuller and sleeker look, also making it easier for the client to manage at home.

From bare brows to a beautiful shape 😍

Mapping brows on a bare canvas is THE hardest kind of mapping to do but I enjoyed the challenge so much….

This took a few attempts to get these mapped to exactly how we wanted them, my client has quite a high natural arch which I could see from her brow bone and also some tiny hair follicles trying to grow.

We didn’t want to go as high as her natural arch but still wanted to work with where her natural shape would be, lots of the initial mapping done laid done as I just find it easier but alot of adjustments done sat up, every clients face changes to a more natural position when they’re sat up so it’s important to do both, you will often be able to see if clients have a muscle pull in their face sat up but you won’t always see this laid down and this can change the position of each brow enormously.

I truly loved bringing these brows to life 🥰

Firstly I feel so Incredibly grateful that my client trusted me to create these brows for her…. This was such a big moment in her journey.

We all start somewhere…

In 2017 I decided to take a 1 day ‘celebrity brow’ course and that’s how it all began…

I practiced on family and friends and endless models to try and improve my skill and started to charge clients for my services..

I put together a full kit I could take to peoples houses or keep packed up at home, I purchased a portable beauty couch and set up in my old living room when I had some childcare or in the evening…

I worked hard, I trained in lash lifts to add this onto my treatment list, I continued to offer model spaces and never stopped practicing on family…

Fast forward to lockdown when the beauty industry closed and to keep me busy I created my own brow soap and sold it online and to existing and potential clients….

I took over my conservatory at home and set up as a home based brow studio … no more mobile visits!

2022 I trained in ombré brows… followed the same process as before and practiced on family and friends and opened up many model spaces to improve my skill…

6 months later I was diagnosed with breast cancer and once again had to stop working and close business for a while, I still kept present online and shared my journey

2024 I re opened in my dream brow studio in my garden, added lip blush to my treatment list and opened my training academy!

No matter my situation, no matter where I have set up whether it be my living room, my conservatory or my beautiful new space. Whether I had to close for Covid or close to fight cancer I STILL have many many clients who came to that living room for their brows… who have been loyal throughout and who have come to me because it’s me…

So the message here is… just start!! You don’t need a big space, or a space that looks pretty on Instagram. People will come to you for you… consistency and hard work will always pay off in the end …. But just start!

2024… a year to remember!

This year has been filled with some very very big highs and lots of little lows, 2024 is the year I became a wife, started a training academy, finished cancer treatment and our eldest child started secondary school.

This time last year I was getting ready to start radiotherapy with no fear, after going through so much already with chemotherapy I felt nothing could compare…. Little did I know it was going to knock me sideways for the next 8 months plus! …. However I had too much planned to let it take over, it did however take some incredible determination to keep going through such extreme fatigue and many other health issues from the inflammation caused by radiotherapy.

I will always feel proud of how I tackled this year, the things I have achieved alongside recovering from cancer despite how physically and mentally challenging things can be.

Thank you to every single person who has supported me through some of the toughest times, I am so incredibly grateful for you all helping me get to where I am today.

2025…. I am so ready for you! My word for the year is GROWTH. I am ready to expand my business even further, experience new things and new places, learn some new skills, have fun with the kids… and learn how to do handstand walks (lol)

Brow Lami Transformation 💁🏻‍♀️

Resetting those brow hairs has never been so satisfying..

3 things to remember when offering this treatment -

Timings are crucial for lamination brows, under processed and you won’t get the smooth lami youre dreaming of and over processing will cause the hairs to frazzle and be unmanageable for the client over the coming weeks, so keeping a close eye whilst developing is key… I like to keep brushing through so I have a clear visual of what the brow hairs are doing.

Use a lighter tint after laminating, the brow hairs will already be treated and will be very porous so will grab the tint quickly and go darker than normal, I like to have the option to re apply tint if needed rather than trying to remove.

Styling the brows is so important to the final finish, getting the right angle so the brow hairs aren’t sticking straight up will give the client a smooth and sleek finish, I always ask the client to hold the mirror and show them how to style a lami at home ✌🏻

1. Always rebook my clients before they leave - don’t just rely on them to book online, I learnt this right back in my hairdressing days and even though we have online booking systems now this still sticks. My regular clients visit like clockwork and automatically rebook before they leave every appointment, it helps to keep your diary organised, it also means from a financial point of view that I can look ahead and see exactly what I’ve got booked in (allowing for the odd cancellation) if you’re just starting out this is a great way to start building your clients up month on month.

2. Talk to clients about other treatments you offer, if I have a client in for brow maintenance I will often ask if they’ve had a lash lift before… this can spark the conversation about whether or not it would be something that would be good for them, this doesn’t have to feel pushy or salesy at all, just a good way of creating a conversation about different beauty products and treatments and planting the seed so they might upgrade their appointment next time.

3. Make they’re re booking realistic… throughout their appointment you should get to know your client a little bit so you can advise them on when the best time to rebook will be… if they’re a super busy working mum for example then every 4 weeks is probs my going to feel like too much too soon and they may end up cancelling… suggest to book 5-6 weeks and this is likely to sound much more appealing to them… your busy clients don’t want to feel like coming to you is a chore but equally they want to be kept in check and keep their brows tidy.

Training in a different salon was new to me and I absolutely loved it, Lisa’s salon is so different to anywhere I’ve work before, you will always learn new things by opening yourself up and I find it so fascinating being in other people’s work spaces.

These will heal around 40% lighter and softer leaving a perfect pinky lip stain with that beautiful definition.

There is such little down time with lip blush, swelling goes down by the next day, you will have a few days of your lips healing and feeling dry and flakey and by day 5 you’re healed and ready to go 💁🏻‍♀️

Another question I’m asked regularly is … does lip blush hurt?
